Roofing in Worcester

Slate and tile roofing is the most popular type of roof covering in the UK as it is the most cost effective. It is a very durable roof covering, cheap and looks attractive on any type of building and you have the privilege of choosing which colour tiles you would like. Tiled roofs have quite a long life span and doesn't need a lot of maintenance. We do two types of slate and two types of tile;

Traditional format slates - These slates are fitted side by side and give the appearance of a smooth and flat roof. These are non-interlocking slates but are nailed down so they are still perfectly stable

Interlocking slates - Interlocking slates are perfectly set up to connect to each other which gives them a weather tight layer that can keep the rain out. Another advantage of having slates interlocking is that it will prevent them from moving when there are high winds

Rosemary and concrete tiles - Unlike slates, these tiles sit on pieces of batten and can afford protection against hail and wind speeds as strong as 125 miles per hour

So there are four types that you can choose from, it all depends on the style and age of the roof. Normally on a house built in the 1960's or 70's, you would use concrete or clay/rosemary tiles. Slates are usually used on roofs built in the early 1900's.
